Greece
Our extensive archaeometallurgical surveys in Greece were done in
collaboration with the Greek Institute of Geology and Mineral
Exploration (IGME), with the members of the Regional offices, and in
Athens mostly with Dr. Stavros Papastavrou. In the first years of
our research in Greece we were also collaborating with Mrs. Artemis
Papastamaki and Dr. Vaios Avdis of IGME.
All samples of archaeological artefacts were collected with the
permission of the Greek Ministry of Culture, with the support of the
British School of Archaeology at Athens. The artefacts from the
archaeological sites were collected with the help of the excavators
and regional ephors; research on the artefacts in the National
Archaeological Museum in Athens was in collaboration with Dr. Eleni
Magou. Prof. Yannis Tsedakis was of great help in the collection of
samples from Crete and in arranging a general permit for our work in
Greece..
